Kerry

County Kerry, or Ciarraí in Irish, was named after a phrase meaning ‘people of the Ciar’. Ciar was the ‘illegitimate’ son of the King of Ulster, who was banished from Ulster and arrived as a refugee in the south of the country which later become known as Ciarraí.
